Messages of Hope for Troops

If you have visited this blogsite more than once you know that I periodically post about the "Letters from Home" program, a non-profit organization started by a husband and wife in Pennsylvania. They put together cards and letters and care packages for troops overseas. They always have a list posted on their site for items that a particular unit needs. They are basic items like toiletries, snacks, etc. It is a highly worthwhile project to help with. There is a link here if you look to the right of the screen under "links."

There are many organizations like these. I have since found another that I like. It is a project sponsered by Xerox called "Let's Say Thanks." You visit the website, choose from a selection of postcards designed by children all over the country, choose a pre-selected message or draft your own. Then submit. Xerox will digitally print these postcards to be sent to our soldiers deployed in various locations overseas. It is free of charge and there is a place where you can submit your child's artwork for possible placement on one of the postcards. It is a quick and easy way to let a stranger know that they are thought of. They will only print a first name though and no other personal info. You cannot include an e-mail address or home address to have a reply sent to you from the soldiers (although you can with the "Letters from Home" program.) I will post the site here and also in my links.
