Happy Birthday Little Girl...
Twelve years ago today I became a mom for the first time. It seems like it was moments ago! Where does the time go?
Twelve hours ago I said goodbye to my husband as he left for Germany for two weeks. It seems like it was a lifetime ago!
I guess when you want time to stand still it races by...and when you want it to race by it stands still. Just another reminder that we aren't in control of things. We're just here for the ride!
Quote of the Day-"To lead a better life, I need my love to be here...
Here, making each day of the year
Changing my life with a wave of her hand, Nobody can deny that there's something there....
......To be there and everywhere
Here, there and everywhere"

Renewal

Well, I’m not sure if Spring is here or not because everyday I believe that it might be, it snows the next day. It’s a bit overcast today and chilly once again, but the wildlife in my suburban backyard makes me think Spring might indeed be here. There are rabbits everywhere, every time I look out the window there are a few more joining in the chase. They are multiplying like..well....rabbits! We filled the feeders outside and there are all kinds of birds here that I have never seen before. But my guess is that if they’re all here, then Spring must be too. As I make my way out from underneath my winter blanket of “blahs”, I am reminded of a pledge I made to myself around the new year to meet age 40 this July healthier than I have been in awhile. I have, in fact, done almost everything in my power to make that pledge obsolete. However, the Spring reawakens everyone and everything and I am no different. It’s April, and while I have managed to all but sabotage every effort to make the necessary changes, I am still a bit (and only a bit!) better off than I was at the beginning of last year so I guess that is a jumping off point, right? I believe there is still time to make a difference in my health before I leave my 30’s in the dust. So here it is..my “re” pledge to do something good for myself and hope that it makes the difference. One can dream..right? Happy Spring!

Quote of the Day- “We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winter's evening. Some of us let our dreams die, but others nourish and protect them, nurse them through bad days till they bring them to sunshine and light.” ~~Woodrow Wilson

Remembrance

As the students and faculty at Virginia Tech begin to put back the pieces in the aftermath of the tragedy there yesterday I hope they will be kept in thoughts and prayers, I know they are in mine today. To the parents, who sent their beloved children off for a higher education, and who now must begin the unimaginable task of walking an earth in which their child no longer does, I hope that thoughts and prayers are enough. May God bless us all.
My condolences.

What Happened to the Last 5 Months of Posts??!!

Oh yeah, I forgot to write them!! It must be the Seasonal Affective Disorder. (I joke and yet I wonder....?) I feel like I hibernated all winter with injuries and sick kids and what not. But I'm back so a belated Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Groundhog's Day, Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Saint Patrick's Day!! Thanks to all those who kept reminding me to get back to Mindy's Place.

More to follow...
